Joy received a B.S. In Physical Education and Commercial Fitness from Pacific Union College, 2002 where she played varsity basketball for four years.
For the past 8 years, she has taught Physical Education and Health in Redlands, CA to junior high and high school students. During the summer 2010, she completed both the USAC Coaching certification and the ACE Personal Training certification in order to pursue her dream of coaching athletes of all levels from cyclists to 5k walkers.
Joy is also an avid cyclist. Whether training with her teammates and friends or racing all over Southern California, most weekends and evenings are spent on the bike! The 2010 season brought Joy into her 3rd season racing as Professional Mountain bike racer. She also made the segway into road cycling, racing the majority of the season on skinny tires as a cat 2. 2011 Joy was able to race 4 NRC stage races with success and race through out the season in Southern California. She also races cyclocross from time to time and would love to hit up a pump track in the near future.
